Owner and Instructor of MI Super Foodies, I received my Bachelors of Science in Dietetics from Eastern Michigan University. As a dietitian, I believe that all foods can fit into a healthy balanced diet. I love working with my hands, trying new recipes, and eating my creations. I find it rewarding to share a delicious meal with family and friends. Through the years, I've learned that the best way to maintain healthful habits, is early exposure. I hope to inspire my students to become their own personal chefs, try new foods, and create healthful habits, like cooking at home.
By demonstrating basic cooking skills, MI Super Foodies, will provide a fun, safe and creative environment inspiring its students to explore new foods and the kitchen. Using fresh quality ingredients students will be exposed to a variety of recipes and techniques expanding their knowledge of new foods and enhancing their taste preferences. Whether working independently or in small groups, students will gain confidence and have fun creating their own dishes. After all, we have "come to play with our food."
It's important that every student feels confident in the kitchen. They'll receive guided demonstrations followed by hands-on participation exposing them to basic culinary skills. Students will learn to follow a recipe, create and sample a variety of new foods. Students will discover that cooking isn't about perfection sometimes a little mishap can lead to a scrumptious happy accident.
